Hitting the wall

I seem to have hit a brick wall.

‘The Wall’

Runners know it well. That point where you feel like laying on the pavement is a better option than taking another stride.

For me I feel like sitting on the couch watching episodes of Deadwood would be better than sitting in front of a keyboard trying to get my thoughts together enough for a post.

I tried an exercise where I took a picture and wrote about it. As you can see that was not very successful.
To add insult to injury, I had a streak broken this week. I had nearly two months with at least one view. But as one of my favorite people in the world joked with me, ‘wait, you have to publish content to generate traffic? That’s dumb!’ (miss you Heather).

So here I sit, typing away about not being able to type. Pretty dumb, huh? It’s not like nothing has happened, we had a wonderful bowling party to celebrate the little guys birthday, Easter has come and gone, we hit the streets to feed the homeless, I lost my mind and yelled at a bunch of 6,7&8 year olds. Like I said, much has happened, I have just hit the wall.

One of the best depiction of hitting the wall I have seen was in the movie ‘Run Fatboy Run’ where Simon Pegg is literally standing in front of a large brick wall.

It’s a great depiction of what we have all experienced in many different ways. Whether it’s running, writing, anything we have all experienced it, just maybe not realized it.

Here’s to breaking through it and taking that next stride, or typing those next words.
